Whether its soup, a sandwich and real ale that’s required or a three course meal accompanied by a good bottle of wine, we cater for all. The Sun Inn serves home-made food made with good quality fresh ingredients, locally supplied wherever possible. Diners can eat in our dining room, the bar or the lounge.

You can chose from our varied menu of light snacks, steaks and seafood. Vegetarian options include a homemade chickpea burger and nut roast. For children we can offer chicken goujons and fish fingers. A specials board is on offer most days. We also continue to serve our ever popular traditional roast Sunday lunches.
Our new chef Peter Weigand is currently crafting new menus. Peter's menus focus on using fresh local produce in season: his June best sellers were sea trout with creme fraiche, chives and English asparagus and a heavenly fresh strawberry creme brulee. Peter also serves a traditional Sunday lunch (booking recommended) and will be introducing food theme nights.
Food is served every lunchtime and evening. Lunch 12.00 noon to 2.30 pm. Evening 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm. Sunday evenings 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm. We serve a Senior Citizens Lunch Monday to Friday: any light snack; fish, chips and peas, sausage, egg and chips; plus a starter and desert for £6.50.
Our dining room boasts a original fireplace and an area of wall exposed to reveal part of the Sun’s 15th century wattle and daub construction.
We can cater for any occasion such as weddings, christenings, birthdays or funerals. Morning or afternoon tea for groups can be provided by arrangement. In the Bakehouse, our function room, we can accommodate regular or one-off meetings, small conferences, arts & craft groups, discussion groups—any event that requires some space for an hour or more. |
