At the Sun at Clun, we are offering a 10% discount on food and accommodation for serving members of the armed forces and veterans. But we urgently need a recognised symbol for premises that offer a discount. No such symbol exists in the United Kingdom but it would help businesses such as ours if one was created.

Our MP Philip Dunne has taken up the issue with the Ministy of Defence and we are delighted with the outcome so far. We have received a copy of a letter from Derek Twigg MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence, which states that the MOD, in principle, have no objection to the setting up of an identifiable symbol and the feasibility is being investigated further. This is good news indeed but we still need public support.
